Love 'em or hate 'em, there's no denying the success that Scott Stapp and company have found in the modern alternative and hard rock worlds. Formed in Tallahassee, Florida in 1995, the band cashed in on the post-grunge era with a string of hit albums and singles that bridged the gap between grandiose stadium anthems and radio-ready rock. Creed's takeover of modern rock in the late-1990s and early-2000s helped make it one of the most commercially successful bands of all-time, racking up a handful of multi-platinum albums and Grammy awards in the process. In 2004, the group went on a hiatus that lasted until 2009, when it reformed to release a new album and continue touring. While fans of more adventurous music may want to look elsewhere, Creed continues to please fans of straight-forward and guitar-driven modern rock and roll.
