Dave Stewart is a singer/songwriter, musician and producer from Sunderland, England, who is best known as the guitarist for Eurythmics. As a teenager he spend his time playing in various outfits before spending several years living in London, where he was introduced to singer/songwriter Annie Lennox in 1976. The two artists hit it off and began a lucrative partnership that would eventually lead to the formation of Eurythmics, which went on to become one of the most successful pop/rock duos of the 1980s. After the pair dissolved in 1990, Stewart wasted no time releasing his eponymous debut solo album as Dave Stewart and the Spiritual Cowboys, though he eventually began dropping material under his own name, starting with 1994's Greetings from the Gutter. Besides a brief Eurythmics reunion from 1999 to 2005, Stewart went on to compose film and television soundtracks and to produce the music of other artists while also continuing to record and perform his own work.
