While traveling through Peru in 1982, at the age of 32, Sam Baker's train was hit by a terrorist bomb. While many of the passengers died, including the family riding beside him, Baker survived with severe injuries, including massive brain damage and the inability to walk. Taking years of rehab to recover the use of his words and his hands, Baker decided to turn to making music at the ripe age of 50. Now based in Austin, Texas, Baker crafts heartfelt singer/songwriter folk that tells of his experience and road to recovery.
