Seth Meyers is a comedian and actor who rose to fame as a player on NBC's sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. He got his start in improvisation while attending Northwestern University and moved on to joined several different comedy troupes, including Preponderate and the Amsterdam-based Boom Chicago, before joining the cast of SNL in 2001. He was promoted to writing supervisor and eventually co-head writer along with Tina Fey and Andrew Steele in 2006, and with Fey's departure, took on the role as co-anchor with Amy Poehler for the Weekend Update segment. Now as head writer for the show, Meyers is an integral part of the SNL. He has since hosted ESPN's ESPY Awards and was chosen as the keynote speaker at the White House Correspondents Association Dinner in 2011.
