Keyboardist and vocalist, Kori Gardner, and dummer and vocalist, Jason Hammel, formed the Connecticut-based duo, Mates of State, in 1997. Their first album, My Solo Project, was released in 2000. Since the pair married in 2001, they have released three EPs and six more studio albums together, including the 2011 release of Mountaintops. Friendly harmonies and minimalist pop sounds have allowed this modest, indie duo to make music together for well over a decade.
