London-born Martin Kemp is a British musician and actor. He began his acting career as a child actor, appearing in TV shows like Jackanory, Dixon of Dock Green and more. His first stint as a professional musician happened when the manager of his brother's band asked him to replace the band's bass guitarist. Kemp learned to play the bass guitar in as less as three months and began performing regularly with the band. With Kemp now a permanent fixture in the band's lineup, it was renamed as Spandau Ballet. His time with the band was highly successful and he played on albums such as 1983's True.
