Las Cafeteras is a band from Los Angeles that fuses together elements of Mexican folk with spoken word and zapateado dancing to create a forward-thinking and well rounded artistic presentation. Founded in 2005 by dance students at a community space called the Eastside Cafe in the El Sereno neighborhood of Los Angeles the group fills its songs with themes that center around civil rights issues and immigration reform. The group released its debt album, It's Time, in 2012 and since then the group has kept active, releasing additional LPs, maintaining a busy touring schedule and sharing the stage with the likes of Caifanes, Juanes and Ozomatli.
