Kümmert was influenced by the record collection of his father which contained blues and rock n' roll records from the 60s and 70s. He plays multiple instruments including piano, guitar, trumpet and drums. Before he entered the competition on the ProSieben network, he produced his own songs and played around 150 shows every year. He released and recorded his first album Smilin' in Circles in 2010 and in 2012 the album The Mad Hatter's Neighbour with the record label 7us music. In 2014 Kümmert released his album Here I Am and went on tour across Germany.
