In honor of San Agustin de las Cuevas, this festival takes place every year on August 28th in the heart of Tlalpan. It is a prominent event that includes horse parades, a procession of rebozos (traditional clothes worn by women), folk dances, cock fights, typical Mexican food and a photography contest. A special delight are the singing processions, known as callejoneadas, which go up and down the narrow streets accompanied by music. This is a festival full of mysticism and tradition that is well worth attending. The streets are narrow, so parking could be complicated and you are advised to use public transport if possible.
