The Roman Forum Museum stands as the entrance to one of the largest urban archaeological parks in Spain. The rooms inside showcase a careful selection of pieces where you can learn about the long history of the hill of the Molinete, from present day to the ancient Cartagena. Tour the important vestiges of the glorious Roman era, including: the Curia, or local senate, with its richly decorated marble pavement; the colonial forum, the nerve centre of the city, whose distribution on several levels symbolised the hierarchy between the divine and the human; and the Sanctuary of Isis where the mystical cults to the Egyptian gods were celebrated. There's also ancient roads with chariot tracks, the Baths of the Port with their magnificent entrance portico that preserves the original floor, and finally the Atrium Building with its high walls and pictorial decorations that transport you back to the great banquets of the Roman Empire.
