New Orleans rapper and producer Big Freedia is a prominent figure in the Louisiana's long "bounce" history. Freedia is a part of a small contingent of "sissy bounce" rappers who are generally biological males who identify as a sexually ambiguous. Big Freedia is largely a party host, playing live through the New Orleans and the south on a regular basis, and rarely releases her own material. Her songs, like "Azz Everywhere," encourages listeners of all types to be sexually expressive on the dancefloor and this has resulted in a particularly large number of straight women in attendance at Freedia's shows. Freedia released Hitz Vol. 1: 1999-2010 in January of 2010, a compilation of her work over that 10+ year period.
