As legend has it, the Notodden Blues Festival was the brainchild of thirteen Norwegians who were avid blues fans. Their interest in the genre was so big that they borrowed money from a local bank to fund a music event solely dedicated to blues. The first event was staged in 1988, and today the Notodden Blues Festival is one of the largest blues festivals in all of Europe. An event not to be missed by blues enthusiasts.
