Hot Club of Cowtown is a trio of fiddle, guitar and bass that released its debut LP, Swinging Stampede, in 1998 and garnered the fascination of Bob Dylan, who hired the group's sole female member Elana James to be a part of his backing band in 2005. The ensemble plays a characteristic style of rockabilly tunes and during live shows the group incorporates a number of bluegrass and western swing favorites like "Ida Red" and "Orange Blossom Special" into its repertoire.
