Romeria Vikinga (Viking Festival)

Every summer, Catoira's locals stage a massive Viking invasion reenactment. Thousands of visitors flock to the Galician town to dress up in their favorite Viking outfits and join in the festivities each year. Vikings sail around the coast on a Viking vessel and disembark to face battle with the local Spanish villagers. After the battle, everyone is friends once again and residents and visitors gather together to enjoy a massive picnic with plenty of wine.
