Athletically inclined visitors can tour Riga by participating in the Riga Marathon. If you're a beginner, you can do the half marathon (5K); if you've got buns of steel, do the full run. There is also the opportunity to compete in the Marathon Team Relay. The marathon starts off near the Presidential Palace on 11 Novembra Krastmala, snakes along one side of the Daugava River, crosses the Vansu Bridge, loops back up on the other side of the river, and ends near Arena Riga. No hills throughout the entire course!
