The Charlotte Hornets is a National Basketball Association team and a member of the Southeast Division of the Eastern Conference. Entering the league in 1988 as an expansion team, the franchise relocated to New Orleans in the early-2000s. In 2004, a new expansion team, The Bobcats, arrived in Charlotte. After a 10 year run, the franchise reclaimed its original Hornets moniker, beginning in the 2014-2015 NBA season.
