The Dallas Stars entered the National Hockey League as the Minnesota North Stars in 1967. Prior to the 1993-94 season, the franchise moved south to Dallas. The Stars won back-to-back Presidents' Trophies in 1997-98 and 1998-99. In 1998-99, the Stars not only held the best record in the league, they hoisted their first Stanley Cup in franchise history, beating the Buffalo Sabres in six games.
