The BossHoss is a musical act from Berlin that covers popular rock, hip hop and pop songs with a country and western flavor. After forming in 2004, the band was signed with Universal Music Domestic Division and released its first album Internashville Urban Hymns, the following year. The seven-piece band calls its style "country trash punk rock" and it takes the American cowboy act to heart. During its country renditions of Britney Spears' "Toxic and Outkast's "Hey Ya!," the BossHoss is decked out in cowboy and Stetson hats, large sunglasses, obtrusive belt buckles and tank tops while smoking cigarettes and displaying empty whiskey bottles. The satirical live performances are led by vocalists Alec Völkel, also known as Boss Burns, and Sascha Vollmer, who goes by Hoss Power. The BossHoss released its fifth album Low Voltage, in 2010 and continues to keep German audiences entertained with their lighthearted parodies of American country music.
