Carl Craig is a Detroit-based techno music producer, composer and DJ who is known for using elements from a vast range of genres such as jazz, world music and soul. After establishing himself as a huge up and coming force of EDM with his debut album Landcruising, in 1995, he began to operate under several different monikers, proving that he could continue to produce innovative music without the power behind his real name. Craig released 1995's The Sound of Music, as 69 followed by The Secret Tapes of Doctor Eich, in 1996 under the alias Paperclip People before releasing his second album under his real name, More Songs About Food and Revolutionary Art, in 1997. A mainstay in Detroit's techno scene, Craig co-founded the Detroit Electronic Music Festival in 2000 and runs his own Detroit-based label, Planet E Communications.
