During the 80s, a few innovative artists took it upon themselves to make a unique style of music that combined aspects of electronic music, new wave and gothic rock. This amalgamation of genres was dubbed industrial rock and a few of the bands that emerged during this time would go on to become internationally well respected acts. One of these groups is Front 242. The band was formed in Belgium in 1981 and even though electronic music has long since evolved since its early primordial stages, Front 242 still somehow manages to sound relevant when stacked against today's electronic maestros.
