Naw-ruz means "New Year" in Iranian. Celebrated by Bahais all over the world, this event marks the end of a 19-day fast. The day symbolizes the beginning of spring when all things are made new and spirituality is rejuvenated. Work is suspended on this holy day and Baha'is must be in harmony, love and oneness with one another while engaged in commemoration of the Prophet Founder Baha'u'llah. There is no Baha'i temple yet in Singapore and as such Naw-Ruz is celebrated with prayers and rejoicing either at the Baha'i National Center of Singapore or in homes and public venues.
