For over 10 years the Sitka International Cello Seminar has brought some of the brightest young emerging professional cellists in the world to Sitka to be mentored by leading professionals in the field and inspired by the nature of Sitka. Under the leadership of Grammy-winning cellist, Zuill Bailey, this seminar's concert series now acts as an extension of the Sitka Music Festival's summer programming bringing summer programming to 7 weeks in Sitka from early June through mid July.Sitka International Cello Seminar presents the culminating event, Cellobration! on Saturday, July 13 at 7::00 p.m - Harrigan Centennial Hall. Join us for this season’s final concert featuring cello solos, small ensembles, and cello choir.Each summer the fellows present several recitals and community engagement events throughout Sitka. Past cello seminar fellows have gone on to perform as soloists at the Aspen Festival, San Francisco Symphony, and more. Hear them first right here in Sitka!2024 fellows include emerging artists from Beijing, Salzburg, and throughout the United States.Tickets are $15 and available at sitkamusicfestival.org.
