In the mid-1950s, English novelist J.R.R. Tolkein wrote a fantasy epic that tells the story of a magical ring with insurmountable power that shakes the foundations of the fictional earth it exists in. The legend, featuring an assortment of elves, dwarfs, humans, hobbits, wizards and various demonic creatures, was adapted into a series of three films that were released in 2001, 2002 and 2003, respectively. The movies were met with critical and commercial acclaim, prompting play-writes to pen stage adaptations of the Lord of the Rings story. Featuring an extravagant stage setup, with impressive costumes, music and grand special effects, the play manages to be a visual spectacle with an eloquent plot line that'll have undoubtedly have audiences of all ages enthralled at its impassioned scope.
