Charlie Wilson is a singer/songwriter from Tulsa, Oklahoma who has defined himself over his decades long career as one of the more recognizable figures of the American soul and R&B scenes. Starting out his career in 1967 as chief vocalist of the prominent soul group the Gap Band, Wilson went on to achieve considerable success with the band before opting to strike out on his own and launch a solo career, starting with his 1992 debut album, You Turn My Life Around. He has since distinguished himself with his powerful voice and poignant songwriting style.
