GoGo Penguin är pianojazz-trion från Manchester, England som sömlöst för samman rock, post-bop och minimalistiska influenser med elektroniska element. Trion bildades i Manchester 2012 av pianisten Chris Illingworth, basisten Nick Blacka och trummisen Rob Turner. Bandets sound rymmer lika mycket post-bop-jazz som klassisk västerländsk musik, Massive Attack som Esbjörn Svensson Trio, Debussy och Aphex Twin som Brian Eno.Eller som The Guardian uttrycket det: ”powered by fluttering, junglist drums, slithering bass lines and an increasing bank of Eno-esque digital manipulations. Hypnotic stuff.”Efter att trions andra fullängdare nominerades till Mercury Prize, lämnade trion Matthew Halsalls Gondwana Records och kritade på för Blue Note. Bandets Blue Note-debut Man Made Object tog sig in bland de tio bästa på jazzalbumlistan 2016. Atmosfäriska, filmiska break-beat-trion GoGo Penguin kommer nu till Stockholm jazz festival och Slaktkyrkan med musik från sitt senaste album Everything Is Going to Be OK och med låtar från trions nio album omfångsrika katalog.
