The Juggalos count among the States' most idiosyncratic and divisive subcultures. The movement was started by the horrorcore rap group Insane Clown Posse, who started calling their fans "Juggalos" (based on the song "The Juggla") in the mid-1990s. Many Juggalos imitate Insane Clown Posse in their style, wearing black-and-white clownish face paint and "spider legs" hairdos. Their annual gathering takes place every summer, and features all of the Juggalos' favorite horrorcore acts.
