David John Haskins, best-known simply as David J, is an English rock musician who first got his start as the songwriter and bassist of the seminal Gothic rock band Bauhaus. Having written solo material whilst still in the group, after Bahaus broke up in 1983, David J already had an album's length of solo material that he quickly released. Dubbed Etiquette of Violence, David J's debut album helped establish the talented songwriter as a musician whose artistic sense flourishes when he's not encumbered by the pressures of band confines.
