Schlosspark Oranienburg

Under Elector Friedrich III, the garden around the castle was lavishly decorated from 1688 onward and was furnished with fountains, statues and a zoo. His successor and son Friedrich Wilhelm tried to take a course of austerity - from then on, the park deteriorated increasingly despite minor interventions. It was only starting from the 1980s that a fundamental redesigning endeavor and consistent maintenance of the property took effect. In 2009, the garden was the setting for the state garden show.
