TOURIST ATTRACTIONS & SIGHTSEEING, PRACTICAL INFORMATION
In the 1990s the 'Neue Mitte' (New Centre) a man-made district developed on a former industrial site with the 'CentrO' shopping mall and an amusement park. These visitor attractions have now been complemented by the Gasometer, a new landmark in Oberhausen. Originally a gasholder, it now serves primarily as an exhibition hall and from its roof you have a wonderful view of the entire region.
