As the name suggests, Bruck an der Mur is situated alongside the Mur river, with rolling green hills adding to the natural landscape. In the Middle Ages, the town was the economic center of Upper Styria. Great examples of buildings from this period are the St. Ruprecht Church with wall paintings or the Gothic Minorite Church with frescoes from the 14th century, later rebuilt in the Baroque style. The landmark of the town, is the Kornmesserhaus (old granary), which is a Gothic style town residence. With such interesting cultural sights combined with the natural panorama, Bruck an der Mur is a wonderful place to visit overall.
