The Rocky Mountain Arsenal is a phenomenal open space refuge home to more than 300 species of wildlife. It is the second largest urban wildlife refuge in the country. The arsenal spans 17,000 acres of prairie and a 1000-acre wetland area also stretches across the terrain. The site is open to the public every Saturday and Sunday and offers over three miles of sightseeing trails and a two-hour wildlife viewing bus ride. The tour is free but requires a reservation.
