Overlooking the scenic Vltava river, Český Krumlov Castle is set atop a small hill. This castle is a well-known monument in the town of Český Krumlov. It was originally constructed by the Vítkovci family in the year 1240. This old castle complex features a courtyard with a stone fountain, the burgrave’s residence, several gardens and the Český Krumlov Baroque Theatre. Built in the Renaissance and Baroque styles, this castle is now a national heritage site and is a popular place to visit for tourists in the area.
