Arbon Castle was constructed in 250 CE and was left abandoned by the Romans by 400 CE. During this process, it was owned by one too many people and finally in 1944, it changed ownership from Hippolyt Saurer to the city. The city took the task of renovating and expanding the castle to finally open it as Arbon History Museum. The museum showcases the lifestyle and society of past times; the water supply, history of churches and castles and local weapons used at the time. The turmstube within the castle has breathtaking views once you reach the summit. It is a Swiss National heritage site as well.
