Alte Universität Heidelberg is one of the primary attractions of the University of Heidelberg. Situated in a large Baroque building are its three main components, the auditorium, the museum and the student prison. The prison, in particular, is famous as it housed troublesome students from time to time. It was functional from 1823 to 1914 and its history is quite a major draw. For a nominal price, you can visit all three attractions together.
