Whiskey Row

Whiskey Row
[]
South Montezuma Street, Prescott, AZ, United States, 86303
Prescott was founded in 1864 and designated as Arizona's first frontier capital in the same year. Prescott flourished with the help of gold in the nearby hills, and like many other towns at the time, saloons and other establishments soon followed. Montezuma Street was the main thoroughfare during this period, and numerous saloons were set up, thereby earning it and some sections of neighboring streets the name "Whiskey Row." The only original bar that remains is The Palace. It has been around since 1877 and is considered the oldest bar in the state. Most of the other original bars have been replaced by new ones, and in addition to these, there are plenty of shops and restaurants that call Whiskey Row home.
