The Genesee Riviera situated in the heart of Geneseo is a historical movie theater that was very popular in the early 1900s. This theater shut its door in the mid-90s after it ran out of business. it re-opened again in 2013 and now screens classic movies on Wednesdays at 7p and on Sundays on 2p. The Genesee Riviera plays host to private or performing arts events on other days when there are no movie screenings. The Genesee Riviera plays an active role in boosting the performing arts scene in the city by providing a platform to the upcoming musicals talents in the city to display their prowess in front of an encouraging audience once in a week during the Local Artist Nights.
