CEFCU Stadium is the home venue of the San Jose State University's (SJSU) football team, the San Jose State Spartans. Formerly called the Spartan Stadium, this massive outdoor athletic arena hosts major high school football games, along with the San Jose State University academic year commencement ceremony during the Memorial Day weekend. Earlier tenants of this humongous football stadium have included the San Jose Earthquakes of Major League Soccer (MLS), San Francisco Dragons of Major League Lacrosse and San Jose CyberRays of the United Soccer Association. The stadium has an overall capacity of 30, 456 and features the ultra-modern FieldTurf, which is an advanced artificial turf that optimizes water and fertilizer utilization.
