Oberer Graben is a street in Winterthur's Old Town that derives its name from its origins as a fosse constructed by the Counts of Kyburg. While the fosse is long gone, the name remains as a reminder of the once-grand fortifications that lined the streets of Winterthur. Today, Oberer Graben is a quaint street that is hemmed by charming boutiques, inviting cafes and local restaurants. Tucked between the Oberer Graben and Unterer Graben lies a pedestrian avenue lined with trees beneath which babbling fountains and open-air cafes invite you to linger and drink in the Mediterranean vibe.
