Named in honor of city's mayor Edward L., the Bader Field was formerly an airport that was used for seaplanes and land-based airplanes. It was officially closed down in 2006 and while the airfield remains vacant and awaits redevelopment, it is a popular venue for hosting festivals, fairs, local and sporting events. This sprawling space makes for a great event venue and hosts major cultural offerings in the city.
