Halsted Street

Halsted Street is a vibrant thoroughfare that runs through the heart of Chicago, Illinois. This major north-south street is a hub of activity, stretching 168 blocks from Lakeview to West Pullman. As it passes through Lakeview, Halsted takes visitors past Wrigleyville, where they'll be only a couple of blocks away from the iconic Wrigley Field. Further south, the street is home to the lively Boystown area, Chicago's main gay and lesbian community, with a plethora of restaurants, bars, and clubs. Halsted Street also boasts numerous theaters, comedy clubs, and landmark locations such as the Jane Addams Hull House, America's first settlement house. The street continues south through Lincoln Park and Old Town before soaring high above feeder ramps to the Kennedy Expressway and Union Pacific Railroad to enter the West Loop.
