A beautiful trail above the San Joaquin Ridge leads up to one of the best vantages in the Mammoth Lakes area. Known as the Minaret Vista, this viewpoint famously offers a fantastic panorama of the 'Minarets,' namely, Mount Banner and Mount Ritter—two of the Sierra Nevada's most significant natural landmarks. While the viewpoint is accessible through the interpretive trails in summer, winter season access is only possible with skis, snowshoes or snowmobile.
