One of the park's smaller waterfalls, Horsetail flows for a limited time during the year but is rather popular for a spectacle that will take your breath away. The cascade stands east of the El Capitan and is placed in a way that, on a winter evening with clear skies, catches the setting Sun's rays, appearing to be on fire. The hope of catching this ethereal sight attracts numerous visitors to this site every year around the month of February. This spectacle has earned it the moniker of "Firefall".
