Located in southeast of Germany, Laufen shares its border with Austria. This Bavarian town is bordered by River Salzach in the east, which was hugely responsible for trading of goods. Overlooking the river sits the 15th-century Laufen Castle, which was used as a prison in World War II. Visit the Old Town to explore the 13th-century fortified walls of Stadtmauer and many other such historic structures.
