Surrounded by rolling hills and verdant forests, Frankenstein is an idyllic and beautiful town, with shingled houses dotting the landscape. The major highlight is the ruins of Frankenstein Castle, its grey and red brick walls standing strong on a promontory above the town. A hike up the little hill and exploring the ruins is highly recommended.
