With a history that dates back to the 12th Century, Ried im Innkreis is a shining jewel of the Innviertel region. The city's numerous historic squares and charming old houses are markers of its rich legacy. The city was notably home to the Schwanthaler family of sculptors and their works can prominently be seen at the Innviertel Folklore Museum. Besides this, the Rieder Parish Church is one of the highlights of the city.
