Sélestat enjoys the distinction of being one of the most popular tourist towns in the region thanks to its historic houses, Renaissance works and some very impressive churches. The Humanist Library is a treasure trove of Renaissance books and ancient manuscripts. The twin towers of the Romanesque St. Faith's Church is a spectacular example of Romanesque architecture, and St. George's Church astounds with its dimensions and basilica-like construction.
