Charleville-Mezières has a very mild to cold climate throughout the year, making it the coolest city in the country. Also a hotbed for puppeteers and puppet related artistry, visitors must never miss Place Ducale, a magnificent panoramic square that is considered by many to be the most beautiful in all of France. The Meuse river flowing through town adds some natural beauty to Charleville-Mezières, and a stroll along its length is quite enjoyable.
