Located in central Austria, St. Wolfgang im Salzkammergut is a market town on the northern shore of Lake Wolfgangsee. It has been named after bishop Saint Wolfgang of Regensburg and has featured in many television flicks in the past. Based at the foot of Schafberg Mountain, it is a popular winter skiing resort. Other sites of tourist interest in this scenic town include Schafbergbahn, the Hotel Weißes Rössl, and the pilgrimage church with a late-Gothic altarpiece. It is a lovely place set between mountains and a lake.
