Spanning a longstanding history, Kloster Raitenhaslach was established as a Cistercian monastery in the 12th Century. Following its secularization in the 19th Century, the former monastery complex today stands as a striking architectural ensemble that also incorporates a splendid Romanesque church. One of the major highlights of the complex, the church features an interior designed in the Baroque style. Stunning frescoes and adornments evoke a sense of awe in all those who visit. While much of Kloster Raitenhaslach has been renovated and refurbished over the years, certain rooms such as the Stone Hall and Papal Room have retained their historic nuances.
