The Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center is a place that aims to preserve the vibrant wildlife that inhabits the beautiful region of Alaska. Located in Portage Valley, the center is surrounded by the lush green and sparkly white landscape of the Chugach Mountain Range. Sprawling over 200 acres (80.93 hectares), it offers tours that allow visitors to witness the native animals up-close and learn more about their natural habitats. Here, you can meet black bears, coyotes, bald eagles, foxes, reindeer, wolves, and many other adorable animals. After a fascinating tour of the complex, stop by at the on-site food truck to relish fresh hot dogs, sandwiches, ice cream, and more.
